Brooklynn Ahnafield is a recent graduate of the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Originally from Indianapolis, Brooklynn will spend the foreseeable future pursuing funding for higher education. She looks forward to the opportunity in front of her and is eternally grateful to all the friends and family who have made her start possible.

‘’My favorite thing about art is the circular, paradoxical, simultaneous logic it embodies. It mirrors the human experience in a way that makes art necessary. It mirrors life; it creates pseudo life. Thinking about definitional relationships between art objects, artists, and art spaces, they closely match interpersonal human relationships. In that way, art is human. This is the type of thing I want to learn more about, and I have never been hesitant to accept two truths at once. I am a painting, mixed media, creative writing, practitioner. My work is often at an intimate, hands-on scale, human-focused, and intensely layered. I consistently play with opaqueness, transparency, and overlap when using oil paint and pastel. I play with accumulation when using mixed media and collage. I create my best work when these two practices collide.’’
